Lenovo Tab P12 Pro long-term review DESPERATE for updates!

The arrival of the lenovo tab p12 pro late last year, is an interesting one, given the dominance of samsung in recent years. But is this a worthy competitor to the likes of the galaxy tab series, especially as its now in the shadow of the pixel tablet, well find out in this hour long overdue long term review of the lenovo tab? P12. Pro thanks for watching 95 google here on youtube, remember to thumbs up, hit, subscribe and then tap the bell icon to be among the first to watch our upcoming videos. So, as i mentioned, high end, android tablets are few and far between and in some ways this is a good thing is historically, the os has not really catered for larger screens. All that effectively at least the return of google to the space means that some efforts are going to be made to improve this situation. Personally, my bad experience with android tablets in the past means that, when taking the tab p12 pro out of the box, i was actually wowed at just how smell and massive. This tablet actually is its incredibly thin at just 5.6 millimeters, which at first seemed like it. Would be a major worry kudos too at lenovo, though, as despite feeling like what amounts to a sheet of glass, this is a sturdy blade like tablet that is truly nice to hold the mixture of glass and metal combined with that thin chassis means theres, a surprising Balance here, youre giving access to a number of input ports as well, including a micro sd card slot and a usb c port for charging and even accessory expansion.

If you want to, and only though there is no room for a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack, which means that youll likely need bluetooth, earbuds or a usb c to 3.5 millimeter connector to access wired audio, there is a power button, fingerprint scanner that provides biometric security as Well, i think the positioning when holding the tab p12 pro in landscape means that unlocking is fluid with your left index finger, but the scanner itself can be a little bit slow compared to other power. Button scanners youll find on similar priced smartphones. Whats more though, you also get a precision, pen 3 stylus that to me resembles a marker pen in the box as standard its by no means an essential accessory, but its one of those nice to haves. Given the ability to take notes quickly and easily when on the go, the bigger problem ive actually found here is that you cant really do much with it as you, dont get many software features enabled as a result of having it somewhat like the ipad. Youre actually able to store this stylus using magnets, but rather than a more commonly used side edge. You can only attach it to the back of the tab p12 pro because of that, its easy to dislodge and therefore misplace and its an annoyance or its something that i found really annoying when using this, that doesnt actually get any easier over time as its its. The way in which you need to charge this pen samsung does something similar with its own galaxy tab lineup, and that too is frustrating or its a frustrating design trait, when you want to put the tablet in a bag or store it neatly somewhere for later usage.

I will say, though, as far as secondary screens go the lenovo tab. P12 pro has an exceptional by 2560 pixel amoled screen its just a joy to use and its me made even better courtesy of a super fluid 120 hertz refresh rate its not a necessary inclusion, but i think that that refresh rate is a good one. Nonetheless, it means that animations have an extra layer of fluidity, and that is often missing on cheap tablets. That said, this is not a cheap device by any means. It also helps that this screen has colors that are rich and deep, but i will say the maximum brightness level isnt quite as high as i would personally like at around 600 nits. My only sole complaint with the screen here is the overly curved corners its hard to spot at first from afar, but the more you use this and when youre using this up close, it actually looks quite weird that the curves dont seem to align or match up With the outer edge of the chassis, once you notice this, i have to say it is hard to unsee, so i apologize for making you notice it when you probably wouldnt have otherwise. Luckily, though, a series of solid speakers do back up this display with deep, rich sound emanating from this ultra thin chassis, its a great combination as far as im concerned that truly enhances my recent netflix marathons and has softened the blow of having no 3.

5 millimeter headphone Port that said, towards the higher volume levels, things do start to fall apart a little bit and it can sound slightly tinny and then, when gaming or using this device day to day its quite easy to muffle. These outward firing speakers, depending on just how you grip the tablet that said when its on a table or on a stand, no problem at all theres, also an eight megapixel camera hidden within that top bezel. That, i think, is well placed for landscape video calls and its the best positioning for that its acceptable at best as far as cameras on tablets go, and it should be more those more than solid enough for zoom duo and meat calls. If that is something you plan on doing the rear camera, there is a rear camera here. That is also rated at 8 megapixels and again its acceptable for video calling purposes and nothing more beyond this. The cameras here they pale in comparison to even most budget smartphones that you can pick up at the time of this review. Going live the lenovo tab. P12 pro is actually still running, android 11 in the stable channel. That is despite this tablet. Being one of a few that is actually eligible for the recent android 13 beta and has previously offered the first, the very first look at android, 12l or 12.1 prior to that version stable release just a few months ago. Looking at this particular build of android, though its a fine os, but its not one that works quite as well with large screens without a little bit of tuning.

One notable change to android 11 from lenovo is the ability to swipe down and access the notification shade from any position when in landscape or portrait orientation. I think this panel shift will does make it slightly easier to access, but its one of a few minor tweaks of any real note. Luckily, though, lenovos biggest change and the one that is almost a saving grace is a productivity mode that mimics windows, 10 and 11. With floating windows for your apps and a dedicated and persistent taskbar, although designed to be used with the optional keyboard, in my opinion, this is a must to get the most from this tablet. It provides you with the kind of functionality that android 12l will bring to the table when that is available, but until that arrives its a solid effort on lenovos part to try, or at least try and flesh out the tablet experience which, in its android 11 version, Is fairly inhibiting, if you want to do anything other than watching videos or browser web which might be fine for some of you out there most of these complaints ive had when using this, though, are leveled directly at android, the os rather than lenovo directly. This will hopefully change over time, but it feels like the tab. P12 is handicapped, as it still is running what amounts to a big version of the android os that youll find on your regular smartphone. I will say that google entertainment space is an excellent inclusion and was predominantly where i spent most of my time when using this tablet from day one until today, i think its a great hub for all of your entertainment.

That is the perfect fusion of google tv for a tablet form factor, given that most people want a tablet as a second screen having an all access section, dedicated and tapping into your streaming services. Your gaming, your games, platforms and more on top of that is a super way to keep track of everything that you are tending to consume on this form factor the qualcomm snapdragon 870 processor and the fact that this comes with at least six gigabytes of ram means Its the hardware is practically overkill for the sole purpose of doing things like watching movies and tv shows, but i will say that this is great if you do want to do a little bit more and hang on to this for a few years, as this tablet Has a little headroom to play some of the biggest and best mobile games on this screen and most run very, very well, plus youll have plenty of power under the hood to do anything you would ordinarily want to do on this form factor. As for the battery life, there is a huge 10 600 million power cell tucked inside this almost credit card, thin slab of tech and with the right usage. My own experience my own experiences, that is, i could easily go four to five days without thinking or needing to think about charging, of course that, in my experience was light usage with the odd youtube, video or netflix show, alongside some very minor web browsing thrown in That said, you can kill this thing in a day or two, if youre using it as your main device.

I found that it was supplementary to my other tech and my pc and laptop, for instance, which means it was excellent for content consumption rather than being that soul, entertainment and productivity hub. So wrapping all of that up. Lenovo has crafted a fine tablet form here, but its let down by the software thats actually running on this device from the design to the performance. This tablet itself deserves more. Some of that is down to googles. Lack of support for the tablet form factor in recent years, while another bit of that is down to anothers lack of effort to push the most recent tablet friendly android build in years. Theres. No doubt that if the software can be tamed, the 700 asking price becomes less of a major stumbling block. However, having spent a long time with the tab, p12 pro for a review, its impossible to suggest that anyone go out and pick up this device over a slightly cheaper previous generation, galaxy tab, at least for now, with all that said, i would love to hear your Thoughts, do you think that the tab p12 pro is worth that 700 asking price, or are you hoping for a little more when google finally releases the pixel tablet in early 2023 be sure to let me know down in the comment sections below, but, as always, i Hope you enjoyed this.
